incomplete fic
Hi, Yamabu fanfellows! <333 I don't usually let anybody read my incomplete stories -well, that's not exactly true; I let Yui (iuhiuh) read this some time ago XD-, but I don't know if I should finish this one or not, and I wanted to post something because I'm very excited we have a Yamabu comm. at last to spazz about our fave pairing. =D I think it's a bit too mushy. XD;;; Let me know what you think.

Missing You
It was the first time they’d spent more than two or three days apart since they’d moved in together. The apartment they’d been renting for six months now was by no means large, but to Yabu it felt big and lonely with Shoon away. Especially at night.
He’d gotten used to being lulled to sleep by Shoon’s body warmth, by the sound of his steady heartbeats under his ear, pressed against Shoon’s chest, by Shoon’s hands slipping beneath his t-shirt and caressing the bare skin of his back with long, lazy strokes.
With Shoon away he lay awake on his side for a long while after getting into bed, his left hand resting on the empty space on the matress, as if he could feel Shoon’s imprint there.
It felt strange to think that Shoon was abroad, miles away from him, on the other end of the world. He was shooting a movie in Canada, and because of the time difference and the fact that they were filming on location in the mountains, where his cell phone was out of range, they had barely talked four or five times in those two weeks.
He missed him so much he was counting the minutes till he could see him again. Only two days now, he thought closing his eyes. “Good night, Shoon,” he murmured with a smile.
It was 01:30 a.m. and he was still awake. For a few years now Shoon had been having sleeping troubles. It took him a good two —sometimes even three— hours to fall asleep after getting into bed. The stress from his work was to be blamed for it, but it just couldn’t be helped. The showbiz was a cruel, competitive world.
He had tried everything: a bath before going to bed, concoctions, listening to classical music... None of the usual methods worked and he didn’t want to take sleeping pills and become dependent on them.
Well, there was one thing that did work, but unfortunately it was miles away... in Tokyo.
Who would have thought Yabu would be the remedy to his problem? Ever since they moved in together his sleeping troubles seemed to have disappeared... “seemed” being the current word, because they came back whenever either of them was away due to work commitments.
Yabu worked wonders on him. When Yabu was with him he was able to relax, to forget completely about his troubles. God, how he missed him... He’d only been two weeks away, but it felt as if it had been ages since the last time they’d been together, since their last embrace, their last kiss.
They hadn’t even been able to speak on the phone more than a few times, and even though he’d cherished every minute of those short conversations, listening to Yabu’s voice and not being able to see him nor touch him had to be the most tantalizing yet tortorous experience he’d gone through in his life.
Only two more days till he could see him again, he thought. It was not that he wasn’t enjoying himself. The other cast members were great and he’d worked with some of them before, so it felt like they were a group of friends rather than work colleagues. However, two weeks away from Yabu was like walking a long distance in the sun with no trees along the way that would provide some shade under which one could stop to rest.
Yabu was his haven, his safe port, a breath of fresh air that never failed to calm him and revive him whenever he was feeling tired and beaten.
Fresh air... perhaps that was what he needed, he told himself getting up from the bed. Yes, perhaps some fresh air would do him good.
They were shooting on location, in the mountains, so rather than getting hotel rooms in the nearest town for the cast and crew, the producers had rented a number of log cabins in a small resort villa built in the woods.
The stars shone brightly in the night sky when he stepped outside, his hands stuffed in the pockets of his coat, and the pale light of a full moon illuminated the clearing in the woods. It was really a very beautiful place, he thought breathing the pine smell that hung in the air and staring ahead, at the dark waters of the lake.
He wished Yabu was there to share all that with him. A strange sound, like whimpering, interrupted his thoughts. He looked around and saw somebody sitting alone on a log by the water’s edge. He realized it was Kasuga-san, the female leading actress of the film. He hadn’t talked much to her, but she was crying, and Shoon told himself it would be very mean of him to go back to his cabin and leave her there.
He went up to her, but not wanting to frighten her he cleared his throat as he got near and called her name.
The young woman gave a jolt and hastened to wipe the tears from her pretty face with the back of her hands.
“Yamashita-kun... I thought everybody was sleeping,” she murmured getting up and turning around.
Shoon shrugged.
“I couldn’t sleep,” he said.
“That makes two of us then,” she replied with a half smile.
“Mind if I sit with you a while?”
The woman shook her head.
“No, of course not.”
They sat down and stared at the water in silence.
“Why can’t you sleep?,” Shoon asked quietly.
The young woman looked down at her hands, folded on her lap.
“The guilt won’t let me.”
Shoon frowned.
“What do you mean?”

[this scene is obviously incomplete, and there are several other scenes in between]
[this is the last scene - yeah, I'm a disorganized writer ^^p - Shoon is finally home, they've been chatting for a while about his trip, how things have been for Yabu at work while he's been away, kissing... um, yeah, generally making up for lost time LOL ... and they end up falling asleep on the sofa of their sitting room ... awww]

[note: tadaima means "I'm home" and o-kaeri "welcome back"]

When Shoon woke up minutes later he was so tired he could hardly keep his eyes open. For a moment he thought he was still in Canada, but the weight on top of him and the silky, cool skin of Yabu’s lower back beneath his hands brought his mind back into focus. He opened his eyes and blinked before looking down at Yabu’s sleeping face.
“Yabucchi,” he called, bringing up a hand to shake his arm. Yabu’s reply was a muffled moan against his chest. Shoon kissed the top of his head and threaded the fingers of one hand through his hair. “We should go to bed,” he murmured in his ear.
Without opening his eyes Yabu wriggled against him and circled his neck with both arms.
“Mmm. I’m comfortable here.”
Shoon smiled in amusement. Yabu was too cute when he got cuddly with him.
He had the feeling Yabu just liked being carried to bed, as if he were a child. And he was always too willing to play along.
Without disengaging Yabu’s arms from his neck he sat up carefully, slid one arm under his back, the other under his knees, and got up at the same time as he lifted Yabu from the sofa.
“Last stop, sleepyhead,” he called softly when they got to the bedroom. “Can you reach the switch for me?”
Yabu opened his eyes sleepily and stiffled a yawn before reaching out and turning on the switch that turned on the small lamps on both sides of the bed.
“Thank you,” said Shoon playfully.
He put Yabu down on his feet, who pulled him in for a long, lingering kiss before letting go of his neck.
“I’d better go and brush my teeth... before I fall asleep on my feet,” he mumbled, stiffling another yawn in mid-sentence as he walked off to the in-built bathroom.
Shoon smiled at his retreating back and started unbuttoning his shirt when he remembered he’d left the suitcase in the living room and that his toothbrush was inside.
He called out to Yabu to tell him he was going to get his toilet bag, and Yabu replied from the bathroom with an “mm-hm” before opening the water tap.
When Shoon returned with his toothbrush Yabu was already in bed and seemingly asleep too, so he crossed the room silently, went into the bathroom and closed the door behind him with a soft click.
He was going to sleep till noon of the next day, he decided as he got out of the bathroom and turned down the switch by the door. He left his trousers, shirt, and socks on a chair, and walked up to the bed.
He had barely turned off the bedside lamp and slid under the covers when Yabu stirred and snuggled close to him, intertwining his legs with his own and pressing his cheek to his chest. Shoon smiled to himself and flung an arm around Yabu’s waist.
“I thought you were asleep,” he murmured into his hair.
“No, but almost,” Yabu replied, heaving a sigh of contentment.
Shoon closed his eyes, the smile still on his lips, but when he turned his head to the side his forehead creased with a slight frown. He opened his eyes and sniffed the pillow.
“The pillow smells of... cologne,” said Shoon. “My cologne?,” he asked, sniffing it again before drawing back a little to look down at Yabu in the dark.
Yabu, who had opened his eyes, looked positively sheepish.
“Well, you left it behind and it reminds me of you, so I spilled a little on the pillow,” he explained. “I was missing you,” he murmured quietly.
Shoon had never felt like awing in his life —that was a girly thing to do—, but he felt like it at that moment. How could somebody be so adorably sweet?
“But it was just a few drops,” Yabu added, as if worried his silence meant it bothered him.
Shoon leaned forward and kissed him tenderly.
“I wouldn’t have minded if you had emptied the whole bottle on the sheets,” he murmured against his lips before kissing him again, and again, and again. “I missed you too. A lot,” he said gathering him close.
They remained like that for a long while, embraced to each other in silence, until Shoon called Yabu again.
“Mmm-hm?,” Yabu answered, just like before.
Tadaima,” Shoon murmured.
It was the sort of thing you said when you got home, not when you were in bed, but Yabu had gone to meet him at the airport and he hadn’t had the chance to say it. It was one of the things he had come to love of living together: getting home and greeting each other after a long day.
He felt Yabu smile against his shoulder.
O-kaeri,” he replied softly.
Shoon smiled too and closed his eyes.
Yes, he was home. Not because he was back in Japan; not because he was back in Tokyo; not even because he was back in their apartment... but because they were back in each other’s arms, where they belonged.

[That last paragraph is just the mushiest bit in the whole thing, probably. XD;;;]

PS: question: what's the name of the comm. : Angel come to Me, or Slave of Love? Or both? ^^ *is a bit confused*

This was so sweet! I love when you write; you make Yabu and Shoon sound so ..real. You just totally use every piece of their personality to make the story sound .. harmonious, for lack of a better word, and realistic. Great job and thanks for sharing with us! :D

LOL That's funny! XD I'll just go by whichever name you choose. <333 It's just that I made a mention about the comm. on my blog and called it "Slave of Love" and then came here and read "Angel Come to Me" up the window of my Internet Explorer, and then in the profile it has both names.

I'm glad then that I posted it. =] I guess there are moments for mushiness, ne? Perhaps I'll try to finish it after all. =] Thanks for reading! <333
